Just a taste of the awesomeness that occurred this summer :)

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, hardships, persecutions and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

As summer comes to a close, the only thing that comes to mind is this .. BRING IT SCHOOL YEAR!  It’s a battlefield out there, but I’ve got the armor of God to shield me and make me strong ..

Vaca was legit awesome and I couldn’t possibly describe the beautiful lessons and wisdom God blessed me with during my time at kamp (yup, that’s Kids Across America spelling for you) in one sitting.  Just know that the Lord revealed to me that we need (and must desire) quiet alone time with Him daily so that He can guide us according to His will.  To submit is not a demonstration of weakness (as the world knows it as), but rather a great sign of love and reverence to our Heavenly Father.  He will come through and He knows what’s best for us.  Give it up to Him my brothers and sisters.  He loves us!

Praise God for a delightful summer :)

Don’t be dismayed at goodbyes.  A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.  And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.

So good!  What an amazing experience :) I just spent the past five days without internet connection or phone service.  Getting away from technology for a bit puts everything into perspective, especially when our main focus was praising Jesus and loving every blessing in our lives.  I enjoyed the beautiful hills of Virginia while soaking up all the awesomeness of my brothers and sisters in Christ.  Honestly, it was so refreshing to get away from the chaos of school and just live it up with close friends.  For real, I want to go back!

I’m totally on a spiritual high right now and I don’t ever want to come down …

So I’ve Come to Realize that ..

I’m not a big fan of saying goodbyes.  With people going their separate ways for the summer (and some for next semester), it’s quite hard to do my own thing for a while.  I can’t call Duke home now because the people who make it home have left or are leaving.  Because of this, I feel as though it’s not the city I live in or the school I attend, but rather whose by my side (literally and metaphorically).  That’s what matters most to me ..

Man oh man, the end of the year is an exciting, but difficult time!  By the way, did I mention that I’m officially finished with junior year?  Can someone please tell me where my college years went?  This is craziness!

May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand

People Watching

Can I just admit that I love people watching?  I feel as though people reveal quite a bit about themselves when they’re going about their everyday business; little quirks and mannerisms appear as a person walks to and from class or as they study for exams.  I enjoy the opportunity to sit still for a while and take in my surroundings.  I honestly don’t think we grant ourselves all that much time to just be ..
